Va. man injured in stolen vehicle crash steals ambulance from hospital

Fairfax County police said the suspect had not yet been discharged from the hospital but walked away with an IV in his arm

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — A Virginia man who was injured after a stolen car he was in went airborne and crashed in Fairfax County reportedly stole an ambulance from the hospital where he was being treated.

Fairfax County police identified the man as Rickey Lowe of Manassas.

Officers said Lowe was a passenger in the crash near the ramp to I-66 on Feb. 19, reported.

After the crash, officers recovered a firearm and drugs. Four other people were injured in the crash.

Officers said Lowe had not yet been discharged from the hospital but walked away with an IV in his arm. He then got into a private transport ambulance and stole it.

The ambulance has since been recovered.

Lowe is described as being 300 pounds, with a shaved head and tattoos on his arms, and was last seen wearing a medical gown.
