LEE COUNTY, Fla. 鈥� A Fort Myers woman was arrested for allegedly stealing an ambulance from Golisano Children鈥檚 Hospital in Florida, .
On the morning of June 20, deputies used the ambulance鈥檚 onboard GPS to track the rig to a RaceTrac Gas Station on Summerlin Road Deputies then confronted the driver, identified as a 31-year-old woman, reported.
The woman then fled from the gas station, driving the ambulance erratically and nearly flipping it, deputies reported. When a deputy approached the ambulance during a brief stop, she sped away with the emergency lights activated.
The woman was arrested after the ambulance stopped at South Tamiami Trail and Island Park Road. She faces charges including grand theft of a motor vehicle, fleeing, and other offenses.
