COLUMBUS, Ohio — The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) has issued three important updates for the EMS community, addressing certification re-entry requirements, the launch of new examination portals, and an upcoming recertification deadline.

1. Public comment period for ALS certification re-entry requirements

The NREMT has opened a 60-day public comment period for its 24-Resolution-01: Resolution on Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification re-entry requirements. This comes in light of the discontinuation of the ALS psychomotor examination. To adapt, the Registry is updating its entry and re-entry processes for AEMT and paramedic certifications, removing the requirement for this exam.
