ST. ALBANS, Vt. — The emergency medical services chief for the Vermont Department of Health has been placed on leave following allegations of being impaired on a call as a paramedic.
Paramedic Bambi Dame was determined to be unfit for duty after staff at Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans reported signs of impairment, reported.
Dame had arrived at the hospital as a paramedic working for Fairfax Rescue to transport a patient to the UVM Medical Center when hospital staffers reported the signs, according to WCAX.
Officials said Dame did not engage with patients or drive the ambulance.
