BALTIMORE 鈥 During a flight from to Phoenix, a woman suffered a medical emergency. X user , who was also on the flight, detailed the incident, noting she had a weak pulse, 鈥渆xtremely low鈥 blood pressure and needed oxygen in order to breathe. That鈥檚 when a man stood up , 鈥淐ould it be her blood sugar? I have a diabetic testing kit.鈥
That man was the tight end Mark Andrews,
A woman on my @southwest flight from Baltimore to Phoenix this morning had a mid-flight medical emergency. The doctor and nurse attending to her couldn鈥檛 find a strong pulse, her blood pressure was extremely low, and required oxygen to breathe. It was genuinely scary. (1/3)

Andrews instructed those tending to the woman how to properly use the testing kit. They were able and once the plane landed, paramedics were able to treat the woman.
鈥淎ndrews deplaned quietly. No fanfare. As he has done his whole career, he stepped up in a huge moment when people needed him most,鈥
While Andrews played a big role in the incident, he also credited those who helped her during the medical emergency.

鈥淚n addition to the fast-acting flight attendants, the real heroes are the nurse and doctor who also happened to be on the plane,鈥 . 鈥淭hankfully they were able to provide the woman the quick assistance she needed.鈥
