PITTSBURGH 鈥� A paramedic was critically injured in an ambulance crash in Pittsburgh鈥檚 Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood.
A Lower Kiski ambulance was transporting a patient on Feb. 21 to St. Margaret Hospital when it crossed the center line and struck a guardrail, reported.
Pittsburgh Public Safety stated that Paramedic Dina Filo-O鈥橬eil was in the back of the ambulance sustained head injuries and facial trauma. Filo-O鈥橬eil was initially unresponsive after the crash. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Filo-O鈥橬eil was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred. Neither the patient nor the driver of the ambulance reported any injuries.
Filo-O鈥橬eil has been a Leechburg paramedic for over 20 years. Her coworker, Samantha Boyd, started a to help with recovery costs.
