YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. 鈥 A driver survived off some snacks and water after getting trapped down an embankment for more than a day, Arizona deputies say.
When they arrived at the crash site, about , the morning of Saturday, June 15, deputies said they found a car 鈥渁bout 200 feet down an embankment,鈥 according to a June 17 Facebook post from the Yavapai County Sheriff鈥檚 Office.
The driver was trapped inside, deputies said.
A deputy, along with rescuers from other agencies, helped get the woman from the car and carry her up to the road.
Deputies later learned the crash happened 36 hours before rescuers reached the woman.
While she was trapped, 鈥渟he survived off a few snacks and some water鈥 that were in her car, according to the sheriff鈥檚 office.
Though the woman was dehydrated, deputies said she did not have life-threatening injuries.
She was airlifted to a Phoenix hospital, where she is recovering, deputies said.
Yavapai County is about a 100-mile drive northwest from Phoenix .
