SCOTT COUNTY, Iowa 鈥� Authorities sent two people to the hospital after a truck collided with a train late Sunday on the west side of Davenport.
The crash happened at 11:22 p.m. in the 18400 block of 110th Avenue , according to the Scott County Sheriff鈥檚 Office. Investigators think the collision occurred because the driver of a 1994 GMC truck did not stop for a posted stop sign at a crossing. As a result, the truck collided with a railcar.
The two people, occupants of the truck, went to MercyOne Genesis Health System, East, in Davenport.
The sheriff鈥檚 office did not provide details of any injuries they may have suffered.
When the collision occurred, the truck was southbound on 110th Avenue and the train was heading west, the release states.
As of Monday morning, the collision remained under investigation.
The staff of Scott County鈥檚 Medic EMS, and Walcott鈥檚 police and fire departments assisted deputies with the crash, the release states.
