NEW YORK 鈥� A paramedic was named the new 鈥淛eopardy!鈥� champion.
During the May 6 episode, Paramedic Matthew Smith was named the victor following the final 鈥淛eopardy!鈥� round with 鈥渉istoric groups鈥� as the category.
Weckiai Rannila, an engineer from New Mexico, was in the lead with $35,200 before competing against Smith and Carrie Klaus. Smith had $13,200 and Klaus had $10,600 going into the final round.
The winning clue stated, 鈥淟ike their uniform, the flag of this group created in 1506 has stripes of red, blue & yellow, the colors of the Medici family.鈥�
Smith was the only one to correctly answer 鈥淪wiss Guard,鈥� doubling his total to $26,400 and securing the win from second place.
