CHINO, Calif. 鈥 Four patients were evacuated as a precaution after a fire Sunday afternoon, Dec. 8, at a hospital in Chino.

The Chino Valley Medical Center reported a structure fire on its 112-bed hospital campus, 5451 Walnut Avenue, south of the 60 Freeway and east of Central Avenue, around 2:29 p.m. that was isolated to the medical office building, according to the Chino Valley Fire District.

Four patients in the Intensive Care Unit were evacuated to a nearby hospital as a precaution because of the fire鈥檚 proximity and the smoke.

No other areas of the hospital or patients were affected, the Fire District said.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze. No injuries to patients, staff, visitors or fire officials were reported, the hospital and fire department said.

鈥淐hino Valley Medical Center thanks the first responders and firefighters for their prompt response and action,鈥 the hospital said in a statement.
