SYRACUSE, N.Y. 鈥 Two people were injured Tuesday morning when an AMR ambulance and Syracuse Fire Department vehicle collided in Syracuse, firefighters said.
At 10 a.m., an American Medical Response ambulance and fire department 鈥渕ini鈥 modified pickup truck crashed while on the way to a medical emergency in the 2200 block of East Genesee Street, said District Chief Matt Craner, a spokesperson for the fire department.
Both vehicles were damaged when they crashed at Westmoreland and Lexington avenues, he said.
A firefighter was injured in the crash and taken to a hospital, he said. The firefighter鈥檚 injuries are not life-threatening, he said.
An occupant of the ambulance also had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital, he said.
The cause of the accident is being investigated, he said.
