GREENUP, Ky. 鈥� Greenup County Judge-Executive Bobby Hall announced that the Greenup County Ambulance Authority and the Eastern Greenup County Taxing District have entered an interlocal agreement 鈥渢o provide true countywide ambulance protection to every single person in Greenup County.鈥�
Effective Jan. 1, 2024, the Greenup County Ambulance Authority will be the primary emergency ambulance provider to all 360 square miles of Greenup County, Hall said.
With six paramedic-staffed ambulances, Greenup County will provide ambulance service 24/7 with emergency vehicles stationed in Argillite, Flatwoods, Greenup, Load and South Shore, according to the news release.
鈥淚 am thankful and blessed to see people from across Greenup County working together to make this commitment to serve and protect the citizens of Greenup County,鈥� Hall said. 鈥淥nce again, I want to express my sincere gratitude for the continued support of all eight cities, every fire department, emergency management teams, volunteers, our three school systems, local businesses, police departments, the sheriff鈥檚 office, Commissioner Derrick Bradley for his countless hours of leading this effort and a special thanks to everyone that has prayed for all of us involved.
鈥淲hat has taken place today will have a positive impact on saving lives for many years to come,鈥� Hall said.
